Battery maintenance program

Measure and record overall float voltage at battery terminals.

Measure and record charge output current and voltage.

Check electrolyte levels on jars to determine if water needs to be added.

Measure and record ambient temperature of facility and ventilation.

Pilot-cells measure and record voltage and electrolyte temperatures.

Visual inspection of cell/unit integrity for evidence of corrosion at terminals, connectors, racks, or cabinets and area around battery for accessibility.

Check cells for cracks and evidence of electrolyte leakage.

Measure and record either battery float charge or pilot cell specific gravity.

Measure and record battery internal resistance.

Check for unintentional battery grounds.

Check and install battery monitoring systems.

Measure and record voltage of each cell or each jar.

If battery float charging current is not used to monitor state of charge, measure and record specific gravity of battery cells.

Measure and record specific gravity and temperature of each cell.

Perform visual inspection in accordance of IEEE-Std 450-2002.

Measure and record cell to cell terminal connection resistance.

Check structural integrity of the battery rack and cabinets.

UPS MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

Check structural integrity of the UPS cabinets for discrepancies.

Measure and record voltages on both the input and output of the unit.

View input and output waveform to check for any discrepancies during operation.

If applicable, shutdown the UPS and clean the interior of the UPS and check for discrepancies.

Inspect capacitors for leakage and general condition to determine expected end of life.
Verify output waveform, voltage, and current using a oscilloscope and a true RMS multimeter and a clamp-on ampmeter.

Check conditions of the Static Switch and verify operations.

Verify UPS is online and operating properly.

Generator MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

Visually check and subsequently operate the system with no load or full load conditions for a minimum of 30 Minutes, after informing the residential customer that the test will be performed.

Confirm that circuits powered by the system are functioning and make repairs on deficiency.
Verify that the governor/controller is adjusted for proper voltage and frequency.
Complete 50 point inspection checklist while performing inspection to meet the customer's needs.
